3-2-1 BRIDGE
YEAR 6
YEAR GROUP: 6
TASK: Using the 3-2-1 Bridge routine student were asked to reflect on their learning throughout Term 1 of Year 6. Students were required to consider 3 aspects of their learning in which they were most proud, 2 aspects for improvement and gave 1 analogy of the year thus far.
THINKING ROUTINE: 3-2-1 Bridge
COMMENT ON EVIDENCE OF THINKING: Although this routine is not used widely for reflection - it was most effective. Students gave very personal reflections and found the ‘analogy’ a particularly enjoyable aspect of the routine. The analogy also (unintentionally) gave the students a wonderful opportunity to be creative and thinking deeply about their experience as a Year 6 student.
APPROPRIATENESS FOR YEAR GROUP: Most definitely a routine for Upper Primary (year 5 and 6). The concept of an analogy was difficult for weaker learners, however the understanding of this concept did develop throughout the lesson. A routine in which I found the more able students thrived.
